Fruit Skewers with Chocolate Sauce

This is an easy recipe for fruit skewers with a chocolate dipping sauce.  It looks lovely and you can pretend it took a lot longer to prepare than it actually did!  The chocolate sauce is nice because it doesn't harden.  It is quite useful for dipping fruit, cookies or serving with pretzels.

Fruit Skewers:
For the fruit skewers, simply purchase a styrofoam mold from a craft store (they come in all different shapes and sizes) and cover it with aluminum foil.  Colored and patterned aluminum foil can be also be found at the craft store.

Skewer the desired fruit on skewers, alternating colors and shapes, and poke into the styrofoam.  Easy and pretty!

Chocolate Sauce:
1 cup heavy cream
12 ounce package of milk chocolate chips

Directions:
Warm heavy cream in a saucepan, being careful not to burn it.  Empty chocolate chips into pan and let cook for a minute, until the chips begin to melt.  Remove from heat and whisk until chocolate is smooth.  If sauce is not thick enough, add more chocolate chips.

Tips:  You can also add a few drops of flavored extract to this (such as orange, banana, almond...) to make a flavored chocolate sauce.  Enjoy!
