So here it is - the Pier One Tasting party collection! I have purchased most of the items (over the course of a year, one set at a time!) because I'm obsessed with serving small plates. At this point, I own nearly everything they sell - sort of embarrassing! I actually looked at the tiny catalog so many times that my boyfriend starting making fun of me for it.
The website is nice because they have recipe and party ideas, some of which I've tried, edited, and put up here on my blog. Here's a link - Pier One Tasting Party
My holiday cocktail party was inspired by their "Tasting Party", though I made a different dishes and added my own flair to it. Holiday Cocktail Party
I also recently had an Appetizer & Cocktail pairing party, where I made 10 appetizers with 10 complementary cocktails, all in their own mini glasses and dishes. Here's the link to the recipes from that party: Appetizer and Cocktail Pairing Party
Yes, this means I now own over 100 tiny glasses! What can I say, I like serving dishes... I've actually had to spread out my visits to Pier One, and my purchases, as I don't want to annoy the poor sales people, who have to wrap each tiny glass individually (which means if you buy 30 mini bowls at once, you're going to stand there for an hour!).
The collection has come in quite handy for my parties ever since - you can serve an entire tapas menu in these miniature dishes, or just use them for appetizers or cocktails. The glassware is especially versatile, as it can be used for drinks, desserts or small bites, and the collection just elevates any dish that you serve.
Check out my parties page for other events where I've used these dishes.
